About us
Porch Lamp Fine Homes is a boutique custom builder and general contractor serving Calgary and area. Custom homes on acreage are our focus. We also take on a smaller number of renovations and garages, built with the same care.
Owner
Jake Fluker owns and leads Porch Lamp Fine Homes. He's a journeyman carpenter with over 30 years of hands-on experience, and he stays closely involved in every project we take on.
“I treat every home I build as if it were my own.”
Our main work is custom homes on acreage: homes designed around the land, the plans and the way the owners want to live. We also take on renovations, from kitchens, bathrooms and basements to porches, decks and other exterior work, and we build detached garages.
As general contractor, we bring together the designers, trades and suppliers on each project and manage the work from the first plans to the final walkthrough.
A custom home is a major decision and a major investment. Here's how we approach it, starting with the part most people want to know first: cost.
We tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. That means an honest look at your land, your plans and your budget, and a clear picture of what the build will really take. If something doesn't fit, we'll say so early.
Design, timelines and budget are worked out before construction begins. A well-defined budget and a realistic schedule mean fewer surprises once the work is under way.
We take on a limited number of projects each year. That keeps Jake close to the work on every job and lets us keep you informed from start to finish.
Most of our work comes from referrals and repeat clients. That kind of trust is earned one home at a time, through careful craftsmanship and doing what we say we'll do.
Have a budget in mind? Bring it to the first conversation, and we'll tell you honestly what it can build.
Start a conversationWhere we build
We're based in Foothills County, south of Calgary, and build custom homes and garages, and take on renovations, across Calgary and the surrounding area, on acreages and in town.
Still looking for the right piece of land or Calgary home? We partner with Grant Smith Realty and can put you in touch.
Giving back
Each year we partner with Shelter Helps, giving our time, skills and resources. Jake travels to help build homes for families in need. It's work we're glad to do, and a good reminder of what a safe, well-built home means to a family.
